Hello

My name is Esther Hocking, I am a qualified Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist.

I use Manual Therapy and Movement to Reduce Pain, Improve Mobility and support you  with Living a Healthier more Active Lifestyle.

Read my story below.

My Story

I probably have had every running injury under the sun  and  suffered with chronic back pain for years.

My kids have had sporting -and growth related injuries, including post surgery rehabilitation.

I have therefore worked with different health practitioners, from injury assessment to treatment and rehabilitation, both as a patient, parent and practitioner.

I have a personal understanding of the frustration  and anxiety linked  to  worrying about whether you'll ever be able to enjoy your favourite activity  again or even be able to to keep doing your job.

I have been there as a patient and a parent .

This is the reason I re-trained in my 40's with the Institute for Sports and Remedial Massage - the I.S.R.M, eventually completing my BTEC LEVEL 5 Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy.

My personal experience combined with the most up to date evidence-based training , along with hundreds of hours of practice have given me a holistic approach to treating the person rather than just focusing on the injury.

therefore work with you to provide an individual approach and personalised treatment based on your  own situation, goals and expectations.

Massage is a wonderful way to help relieve  discomfort and  stress, and a  powerful tool  in overcoming  your fear of pain and fear of movement, especially  after an injury.

I also believe, based on the latest evidence,  that exercise ( any type) is key to helping people with persistent  pain or stress feel better physically and mentally. I therefore always work with you to try and find an activity or exercise that fits into your lifestyle and that you will find easy and even enjoyable to do.

I do practice what preach.

At  51 years of age, I walk most days, still run a few times a week, consistently attend Strength & Conditioning sessions and try and fit in a weekly Pilates session to keep my joints strong and mobile.
